About
Hadi Soltanifard is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences at Hakim Sabzevari University, Iran. His main research interests lie in urban landscape planning and design, ranging from theory to implementation. He is a multidisciplinary researcher who focuses on the intersection of landscape architecture, landscape ecology, urban spatial structure, spatial analysis, and urban planning. Working on challenging empirical research and projects has broadened his knowledge regarding various dimensions of the urban environment and empowered him to develop complicated conceptual models on the complexities of urban green space and infrastructure, urban heat issues, and climate change adaptation planning.
Soltanifard is interested in applying these topics to several content areas in urban landscape, built environment, spatial patterns, social interaction, and perception of urban space. His approach emphasizes applying both qualitative and quantitative methods to provide the opportunity to collaborate in interdisciplinary areas of research and projects. He attempts to bind the physical characteristics of the urban environment to the ecological features of urban systems, finding solutions to make cities more resilient in the face of transformation and sprawl development, and proposing effective ways to tackle climate change and other social and environmental challenges.
